Corporate Social Investments

Activating positive action for the community towards building a fair society.

British American Tobacco Malaysia recognises the role and responsibility it has beyond its commercial and legal obligations that contribute to the economic, social and environmental sustainability of the community that it operates in. This is why our approach to corporate social investment (CSI) is as an end in itself rather than as a way to promote ourselves.

We also understand local community needs are as diverse as the communities themselves. That’s why we manage our CSI activities at a local level, ensuring we support the most appropriate projects and maximise their value.

And as we embark on a yet another new beginning for BAT Malaysia, one that is supported by our corporate belief of ‘Building A Fair Society’, we are highly committed to ensuring we continue walking the talk but on a larger more direct community based scale.

With this, we have breathed new meaning into our CSI arm with the launch of our BAT Malaysia Social Engagement, Empowerment and Development Platform (BATM S.E.E.D) aimed at helping us target and ensure our CSI activities are truly built towards empowering and giving fair opportunities to disenfranchised communities especially those under the community and environment pillars which have direct impact to society. Under these pillars, the BATM S.E.E.D platform will focus on 4 main areas; Empowerment, Social Impact, Education and Environment.
