british american tobacco malaysia - British American Tobacco Malaysia Foundation

The British American Tobacco Malaysia Foundation’s beginnings can be traced back to 1983 when the former Malaysian Tobacco Company Foundation was first established to formalise the Company's active involvement in providing financial assistance to talented Malaysian students pursuing higher education, an involvement which dates back to 1956.

The Foundation was established with the clear objective to receive and administer funds for education, scientific and charitable purposes.

Today, the British American Tobacco Malaysia Foundation provides scholarships to:

  2. British American Tobacco Malaysia Employees’ Children
  3. Exclusive Distributor Employees' Children
  4. Retailer's Children

Under this scholarship programme, successful applicants from the above categories can be awarded* up to RM8,500/per annum for degree courses, RM5,000/per annum for diploma courses and RM3,000/per annum for certificate courses in any field in an institution of higher learning in Malaysia.

Over the years, more than 2,800 students have benefited from the British American Tobacco Malaysia Foundation's various education aid programme with an estimated investment of RM18 million. Many of these scholars have gone on to accomplish great success both in academia and in the corporate world; to meet the challenges of Malaysia's future, both in the local and international arena.
